Damar Hamlin’s Remarkable Return: Buffalo Bills Preseason Game Recap

Damar Hamlin took a big step on Saturday when he appeared in the Buffalo Bills’ preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts.

It was a return to play for the man who had suffered a cardiac arrest on January 2 during a meeting in front of the Cincinnati Bengals.

The defensive player quickly found himself in the thick of the action. On his second defensive play, he stopped running back Evan Hull to deprive the Colts of converting a fourth down and only one yard to go.

Hamlin went on to make two tackles on consecutive plays and each time the crowd cheered loudly when he was announced inside the stadium. He also took part in a special teams game. With just over two defensive streaks in the game, Hamlin recorded three tackles.

He was later taken out of the game as he watched from the sidelines. The Bills signed a 23-19 victory in this preseason game.

Josh Allen saw no action for the Bills. Matt Barkley and Kyle Allen were sent into the fray. Barkley threw two touchdown passes with 14 completions on 15 attempts for 172 yards.

It was more complicated for his teammate with seven incomplete passes, including an interception.

Among the Colts, among the players to watch, Gardner Minshew was perfect on six passes for 72 yards.

In the Chicago Bears’ 23-17 win over the Tennessee Titans, Justin Fields was perfect on three assists, including two for touchdowns. He left with 129 yards.
