Damaged PS5 batch? Polish stores cancel pre-release orders

It has been known for several months that the purchase of PlayStation 5 will not be easy. Who did not have a pre-order, on the day of the premiere (and probably also a few weeks later), probably should not count on buying a new Sony console. It turns out, however, that even pre-orders may prove insufficient for many. As Patryk Fejfer wrote on Twitter a few dozen minutes ago, a consultant of the x-kom network informed him by phone about problems with the availability of the console due to a factory defect of the console batch. He also mentions that (apparently) Media Markt is sending users a notice canceling orders for the next-generation Sony console. However, this is clearly at odds with their yesterday’s announcement.

The news is… terrifyingly sad – some in responses to Patryk’s entry question such a translation, others also mention that they were called by consultants with the same message.

Collecting many more pre-orders is not entirely a new practice, there is always a chance that the store has overestimated its capabilities. It is difficult to judge anything here: the Polish PlayStation branch has not yet spoken on the subject. But as we are one of those editorial offices that had problems with PlayStation 5 – I’m inclined to believe the translation they use. Paweł had problems that always appeared after turning off the console – and despite the various combinations, he failed to deal with them. The cure turned out to be … replacing the console with a new one. We have already asked PlayStation Polska for a comment, but taking into account the evening hours and, additionally, the weekend – it is possible that we will have to wait a while for it. As soon as we receive it, the entry will be updated.
