After nine years in various youth, junior and college leagues in the United States since the 2010-11 season and three record-breaking years in Swedish hockey in Modo in the Allsvenskan and Oskarshamn in the SHL, the Tre Kronor forward made his debut in the NHL on December 27. The 188 centimeter and 89 kilogram forward was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2014, in the fourth round as the 98th player overall. He signed a one-year deal with Dallas on May 18.

In three games in the NHL, Olofsson scored one goal; on New Year’s Eve against the San Jose Sharks. Olofsson was played by Joe Pavelsky to 3-2, a goal which was effectively the match decider as the Stars won 5-2.

– It took me a long time to get here (to the NHL)… my wife and family had to sacrifice a lot for this, so I dedicate the goal to them, said Olofsson after the game against the Sharks in New York on the morning of ‘year.

– I have more to give, so it will be exciting to see what comes next… with more confidence and a bit more experience, I have more to give, said Olofsson.

Now Olofsson can temporarily return to the Texas Stars farm team, where he played a total of twelve points (4+8) in 28 games this season and also stood out for a +11 in plus-minus stats.
