Dallas County reported 289 new COVID-19 infections on Wednesday, as well as 12 more deaths from the virus.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 350,044 cases and 5,244 deaths in Dallas.
Among the deceased was a man in his 30s, one in his 40s and two in his 50s. The rest were over 60 years old.
With the detection of the first case of the omicron variant in the United States, local authorities urge the population to get vaccinated, and those who have already done so, to receive their reinforcement against covid-19.
County Judge Clay Jenkins noted that the number of people receiving their first dose in Dallas increased slightly again, to 15,000 a week.
He also remembered the times to receive the reinforcement. If it has been six months since your second dose of Pfizer or Moderna, it is time for a third injection. If it is more than two months after your only dose of Johnson & Johnson vaccine, it is time for the booster.
