Dallas Mavericks made history in the NBA on Sunday night. The Texas formation was halfway ahead with a record fifty-run difference and ultimately gave Los Angeles Clippers the biggest loss ever (124-73).
At halftime, Dallas Mavericks already led 77-27 in the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The halfway gap between two teams in the NBA has never been so great since the shot clock was introduced in the 1950s.
The old record was held by Golden State Warriors. The California squad went halfway in November 1991 with a 47-point lead against Sacramento Kings.
Los Angeles Clippers showed a slightly better side against Dallas Mavericks in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to make a comeback at home. The difference in points ended up being 51.
The big man at Dallas Mavericks was Luka Doncic, good for 24 points, nine rebounds and eight assists. Josh Richardson contributed with 21 points, three rebounds and two assists to his team’s first victory this season.
The Clippers, who did win their first two games in the Western Conference, had to make do in the historic game without star player Kawhi Leonard.
