Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys is constantly being criticized. Now his receiver Brandin Cooks is taking a broadside against critics and standing up for his playmaker.
It’s not easy playing for the Dallas Cowboys.
“America’s Team” is almost always in the spotlight, no matter how the performance on the field is. And even more in the spotlight is the quarterback, Dak Prescott. Despite an excellent 2023 season, Prescott had to listen to a lot of criticism because of the embarrassing exit in the Wild Card Round.
Now his teammate Brandin Cooks is standing up for his quarterback – and using drastic language. “That’s pure blasphemy,” said the wide receiver to “The Athletic.” “It’s unbelievable. The guy delivers numbers every year, every year he leads his team.” But does Cooks really mean the word “blasphemy”? Blasphemy describes the mockery of a deity.
“He can’t do everything on his own,” Cooks continues, drawing comparisons with the best. “I’ve played with Tom Brady and Drew Brees. But they had help too.”
However, he also takes responsibility for himself. “We players, alongside Dak, have to take this kind of disrespect personally and use it as motivation to play better. We have to manage to win a Super Bowl,” Cooks concludes his plea for his playmaker.
