Dvorský was in the top ten in most of the pre-draft rankings, but this assumption was finally fulfilled in the last possible tenth attempt, when the Slovak center forward became the first choice in the draft for St. Louis Blues.
The native of Zvolen has been playing in Sweden for many years, where he gradually worked his way up to the men’s competition, playing for AIK Stockholm in the second highest league. For next season, he has signed a contract with IK Oskarshamn in the highest Swedish league, but whether he will actually play there is up to the decision of his new club.
This season, he was most impressive at the Under-18 World Cup, where he scored 13 points (8+5) in 7 duels and led Slovakia to 4th place overall, losing to Canada in overtime in the bronze medal match.
