President Dalia Grybauskaitė invited the students of Vilnius “Atgajas” special school to jointly create a named nest dedicated to the Ukrainian support campaign “Birds of Freedom”. The campaign organized by Pakruojs Manor and “Stiprūs Kartu” will sell not only this but also dozens of other nests created by famous people and students of Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine at a public auction this week. All money collected for them will be used to send Lithuanian drones to a country fighting for its freedom.
“The nest painted by the students with the President’s signature is an exclusive and unique symbol of strength, unity and hope. We invite everyone who wants to contribute to the preservation of the lives of the people of Ukraine to bid their sums at all “Birds of Freedom” auctions, because every euro can become another drone that flies there”, say the organizers of the campaign.
Together with D. Grybauskaitė and “Atgajas” pupils, actions on the website www.laisvėspaukščiai.lt this week, auctions of nests created by the Ukrainian 3×3 basketball team, the Ukrainian basketball team “Prometey”, the Ukrainian soldier Maria Čech, Elžbieta Latėnaitė, Keistuouli theater, Gabija Grušaitė and Ieva Koncevičiūtė, artists Peeter Krosmann and Ramūnas Vaitkaus and Lithuanian schools and kindergartens are also being announced.

Those who want to offer their amount for the nest named after D. Grybauskaitė and “Atgaja” are invited to do so on the Facebook account of one of the organizers of the campaign, Edmundas Jakilaitis, until next Tuesday.
“We will hold auctions throughout the spring, every week. We have hundreds of the most beautiful nests, each of which can become another saved life of our Ukrainian neighbors. Therefore, we strongly invite everyone: people, companies to buy nests for 50, 100 or 1000 euros and fly them with Lithuanian drones”, say the organizers of the campaign.
Companies, organizations, schools and institutions connect
Already in the first weeks, hundreds of people responded to the “Birds of Freedom” invitation: 24,000 were collected. euros, in the first auction, a nest named after Aurim Valujavičius for a record 15 thousand. was sold to the company “Naresta” for the amount of EUR 10,000.
“Companies turn it into an opportunity to be together and do something meaningful, and at the same time, an internal initiative to raise money for Ukraine. Together with the nests, we receive extremely beautiful letters about the fellowship and the good emotions experienced while decorating the nests. Therefore, we invite everyone to contribute: let’s give the returning birds a home, and the Ukrainian soldiers – wings”, say the organizers.
The support campaign will take place throughout the spring: anyone who wants to can buy a nest box of their choice on the web site vehdopaukščiai.lt, and all the money received for it will be used to send drones to Ukraine. You can also support by calling the short number 1409 or making a transfer to the bank account of “Stiprūs Kartu”.
