Carlos Sainz has won a stage in the Dakar Rally for the 40th time in his career. The 59-year-old Spaniard was the first to cross the line in the third stage. South African Henk Lategan (Toyota) finished second in 38 seconds, Frenchman Stéphane Peterhansel (Audi) in third, 1 minute and 41 seconds from the winner.
