A girl asks her father: “What am I, so I can’t be alone?” Then there is a bodyguard next to her. After this question, her family decided – she moved from Sofia to Vienna. And he no longer needs security. “I know that Vienna is for Viennese people, but what choice did I have?”
“It was not difficult for me, I was 12 years old, at which children easily adapt. I accepted it as a positive change. I already spoke English, I found new friends, and mom and dad were always by my side “, remembers Desislava Barbukova – daughter of Vesela and Dimitar Barbukovi. Both her parents then had a successful business in Bulgaria in the field of design, construction, hospitality, real estate management and others.

They kept him in an apartment with an armored door – so strong that they did not dare to blow it up so as not to break the block. They were Bulgarian mobsters who spotted them on the girl who was bringing food to my son. Dobromir told me excitedly: “The police came in like ninjas!”

And what happened, guess what? They released them on bail. The case dragged on for years. But God knows his work. I know that two of them are no longer alive! And the rescuers? They were fired during a purge in the police … Now we are working with Dobromir, we are building, ”Barbukov told the famous journalist at the time. “Dobromir showed a great psyche. He signed his paintings as Daisy Barbukov. Her grandfather also came to the opening. Before the family moved to Vienna, Desi studied at the Italian lyceum “Dr. Maria Montessori”, where she showed a penchant for painting. The new school in Vienna has more intensive art classes. Her teacher notices her talent and encourages her to make painting a priority. His advice is insightful. Desi continues to actively paint. Her first solo exhibition is at the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg. He maintains connections with various art spaces in England, Luxembourg and Vienna. Her latest works have been appreciated and exhibited at the prestigious Steiner Old Town Vienna Gallery – one of the most charming in the Austrian capital.
“My art is an endless journey through which I constantly rediscover myself. It is about my feelings, emotions, sorrows, happiness and the way I see the world with its beauty and flaws, ”says Daisy.
