Dainis Tenis releases his first music recording album Decoder / Diena

The music and sound recordings for 11 compositions were made some time ago – at the beginning of the Covid pandemic, but the full-length album became publicly available to the keyboardist at a significant time – right before his birthday and his first solo concert in Riga.

“I am indescribably pleased that my album can finally be heard in public! It has been waiting for the right moment for a long time, and I think it was worth waiting for this moment. Hansa platform it was definitely the right place for my music to be performed live for the first time, and the timing of my notable birthday also greatly enhanced the festive feelings,” says Dainis excitedly. At the concert for a wide audience, Dainis performed with three instruments – a concert grand piano, MOOG those built by the analog synthesizer and Dāvidas Kļaviņas A CORD piano, which was specially brought from Kuldīga for the concert.

Dainis Tenis is better known to listeners as an instrumental band Dagamba member and pianist. However Decoder is a very personal and autobiographical work, inspired by Daini’s experiences in real life – memories, feelings, events. The unspoken words and suppressed emotions resulted in piano and electronic sound drawings. Stylistically, Daiņš’s music combines the genres relevant to him – contemporary classical, ambient and electronic music.

The album is available on all streaming platforms.
