The researchers also cited unhealthy snacking while watching TV and a lower socioeconomic status of those who tend to spend more time watching TV. In both cases, the study found a connection to both television viewing and poor health.

Scientists consider further research necessary

“Our study suggests that limiting television time could delay or prevent many health problems,” says Dr. Foster. However, he goes on to say that research cannot be completed at this point. “More research is needed to understand all of these factors and to work out future advice and guidelines,” said the study director.
