Daily Schmankerl: Merry Christmas from Bavarian Football Works; Julian Nagelsmann not going to Borussia Dortmund; PSG looking at Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix; Beers for every Lionel Messi goal; and MORE!

If you are celebrating Christmas or using this day as an excuse to get drunk or if your stuck at work or if you’ve got big exams to study for….whatever the case…enjoy the day.

We just want to take this brief time to say thanks for supporting our site, our podcast, our Twitter account, our bad takes, and the rest of craziness that spills out of this site on a daily basis. We appreciate you all as a community and look forward to the coming months.

We hope you’ll “have one” for us, no matter your vice is — unless you are really into some crazy stuff…in that case, don’t have one; maybe take the day off.

Anyway, we’ve got some postings — including a Weekend Warm-up — already scheduled throughout the day, so check in and get you Bayern Munich fill in the middle of this holiday season.

RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann might be one of the brightest young coaches in the world, but he won’t be making a move to Borussia Dortmund any time soon. When Lucien Favre got sacked, there were some whispers suggesting that BVB would look to bring in Nagelsmann, but RB Leipzig’s CEO Oliver Mintzlaff nipped that in the bud.

“I can assure you that Julian will be our coach in the coming season,” Mintzlaff said. “He feels good, has built a great team. There’s no need to pack your bags. We are completely relaxed.”

With Nagelsmann off the table, Borussia Mönchengladbach manage Marco Rose is now considered the leading candidate. Every Rose has it thorn, however, as it will cost Borussia Dortmund a fee to exercise Rose’s release clause next summer.

“If a coach is courted, a reasonable transfer fee must be paid,” said Borussia Mönchengladbach Max Eberl, who also implied that he would need €5 million or more in a deal.

Budweiser wanted to celebrate Lionel Messi’s 644 career goals…so it is sending a personalized bottle to every goalkeeper that Messi scored on — with the number of the goal on the bottle.

I say that is a great idea.

Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly looking to bring in Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix:

Enhancing the quality on his Atletico Madrid performances more and more, Portuguese international winger Joao Felix (21), according to latest French news, is growing into a Paris Saint-Germain major target. Ligue 1 reigning champions and CL defending runners-up are planning a move at former Benfica wonderkid, as long as letting out at least one out of Neymar and Kylian Mbappé.

Currently on a deal with Colchoneros until June 2026, Joao Felix was purchased by Spanish giants, a year and a half ago, on an overall 136 million euros transfer fee (add-ons included).

Schalke 04 center-back Ozan Kabak might be able to escape Gelsenkirchen unscathed is Liverpool can work a little transfer magic:

According to talkSPORT, Liverpool management haven’t given up at all tracking Turkish international centre-back Ozan Kabak (20). To this end, Reds suggested struggling German side Schalke 04 to arrange a swap deal, having 25-year old Belgian hitman Divock Origi, already fending in Bundesliga, notably for Wolfsburg, a few years ago, move on the other way around. Meanwhile, former Stuttgart and Galatasaray wonderkid is still tracked by AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Lazio.
