Daily Schmankerl: Bayern Munich’s Javi Martinez already getting interest; Real Madrid’s plan to land both Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland; Cristiano Ronaldo’s future plans; and MORE!

On Tuesday, Bayern Munich formally announced that Javi Martinez would be leaving the club this summer. It did not take long, however, for potential suitors to start to looking at the veteran.

Athletic Bilbao manager Marcelino García Toral wants his club to bring back Martinez, while AS indicates that the 32-year-old also has interest from clubs in Italy, Japan, and the United States.

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke lobbed this bomb over to Mino Raiola, the agent for Erling Haaland:

Even with Watzke’s declaration, Real Madrid has a grand scheme to get both Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe and Haaland:

The latest events that are happening around the two great pearls of the market, Mbappe and Haaland, place Madrid in an advantageous situation in its intention to incorporate them. In the best-case scenario, the roadmap being considered is that Mbappe could come this summer and that, in 2022, Haaland will do so. There are other options, such as Madrid having to bid for the Norwegian this summer if PSG do not release Mbappe now.

It looks Martinez and Germany international Julian Draxler are potentially on the shortlist of Lazio:

For Lazio, the Biancocelesti have been in the rumour mill with multiple free agents as of late. More so, these three pending free-agent midfielders could very well be some players that are already on the club’s radar.

Julian Draxler’s PSG future is still up in the air. The Germain midfielder is slated to become a free agent over the upcoming summer transfer window, although one recent report mentioned that PSG is making a last-minute attempt to keep the talent at the club. If Draxler does go on to depart from PSG, Lazio could be among the contenders vying to sign him on a free transfer deal. One report late last year noted Lazio’s interest in Draxler for a multi-year contract deal.

The speculation on Martinez, however, seems more like wishful thinking than an actual connection:

Javi Martinez has not been linked with a move to Lazio over the past months. Still, Martinez is just the type of player that would flourish with Lazio. After being rumoured to leave the Bundesliga powerhouse over last year’s summer transfer window, Martinez stayed put with the side for the ongoing season. But it may seem that his time with Bayern may soon come to an official close as he will become a free agent at the conclusion of the season. Martinez’s prime days are well behind him, but he could still be a valuable contributor for a team like Lazio.

Cristiano Ronaldo plans to stay at Juventus one more year before finishing his career with Sporting Lisbon:

In spite of recent rumours, conjoined with his attitude, 36-year old Portuguese worldwide star winger/forward Cristiano Ronaldo is supposedly willing to stay put, and play his fourth season in a row for Juventus. Meant to leave Bianconeri afterwards, on a free move, CR7, according to Italian source Sport Mediaset, is then planning to join back Sporting Lisbon, his home club, for a further 2-year long tenure.

Jose Mourinho will be taking his act to Italy as he will be AS Roma’s new manager:
