Russian company Gazprom’s shipments of natural gas to China recorded a new historic level due to the huge increase in demand from the Chinese side.
The company said in a statement, on Saturday, that the Chinese National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has requested large quantities of gas via the “Power of Siberia 1” line. on November 23, exceeding Gazprom’s contractual obligations, according to the TASS news agency.
The statement confirmed that the company provided all the quantities required by the Chinese side, and recorded a new record for daily gas supplies, without specifying the volume of supplies.
The Russian company “Gazprom” had signed an agreement with the company “CNBC” last October on an addendum to a previous contract, regarding the provision of gas supplies through “Power of Siberia 1”, adding other deliveries to the contract during the year 2023, without reference to the size.
