Residents Malaysia Asked not to trigger new clusters ahead of Eid al-Adha

Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, warned Malaysians not to trigger new clusters by visiting each other or traveling outside the country’s borders during the celebration of Eid al-Fitr. According to him, many COVID-19 clusters arose due to negligent behavior during previous similar celebrations.

“The Ministry of Health urges the public to be vigilant and not to repeat irresponsible attitudes, especially during the celebration of Eid al-Adha which will fall on Tuesday (20 July). The public is reminded that the ban on travel across districts and between states is still in effect. Likewise prohibition of visits to celebrate Eid al-Adha. Don’t let the excitement of celebrating Aidiladha make us all ‘sacrifice’ for COVID-19,” he said in a written statement.
