Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) conducted a recall campaign for 9,378 units of Daihatsu Rocky. This recall process has been carried out since March 2022 and this year the recall is targeted to be completed.
As stated by the Executive Coordinator of the ADM Technical Service Division, Bambang Supriyadi, currently, more than half of the total number of Rocky’s recalls has been completed.
“Now the achievement is 66%. Our target, this year we hope it will be (finished),” explained Bambang on the sidelines of Daihatsu’s early year media gathering event in Jakarta (17/1/2023).
Added by ADM’s Marketing Director and Corporate Planning & Communication Director Sri Agung Handayani, the Rocky recall process experienced a number of obstacles, because there was a scheduled recall, but ended up being canceled because consumers could not come to the repair shop.
“We’re always in contact, there are customers who feel far away, that’s the first thing that’s a bit difficult. We’re making improvements, because this is our responsibility. The second is that he’s been invited, promises to come, but he doesn’t come. do frequent reminders,” said Agung.
For information, Daihatsu recalled 9,378 units of the Rocky model with a production period of April 28-October 7 2021, it is necessary to strengthen it by adding a welding area point to the front shock absorber mount.
This problem has the potential to interfere with driving comfort when passing through bad road conditions, and at high speeds an abnormal sound will occur inside the hood of the car, so that the shock absorber mounting component has the potential to be released.
Apart from Rocky, ADM is also recalling their commercial vehicle model, the Gran Max. Currently, the percentage of Gran Max recall work has reached 42%. The recall is related to the reprogramming of the ECU components.
“Because the recall is our responsibility, of course we want it to be completed as soon as possible. But indeed the conditions are, there are (consumers) who have been called, promised to come, then they have problems, don’t come, postpone again tomorrow. So until now only 42%,” said Bambang.
