Daihatsu Rocky, Granmax, and Luxio Get Recall, This Is The Cause

PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) announced a recall for three of its products, namely Rocky, Granmax and Luxio. This program is a form of APM Daihatsu’s responsibility to its loyal customers. Then, what are the technical problems that befell the three models?

In this program, Daihatsu recalls 9,378 units of the Rocky model with a production period of 28 April – 7 October 2021, it is necessary to strengthen it by adding welding area points to the front shock absorber holder.

This problem has the potential to interfere with driving comfort when passing through damaged road conditions, and at high speeds there will be an abnormal sound on the inside of the car hood, so that the shock absorber mount components can be detached.

To overcome this, ADM will add welding points to the front shock absorber mount, from the initial 14 points, 11 points will be added, bringing the total to 25 points.

Meanwhile, for the GranMax and Luxio models, Daihatsu wants to reprogram the engine ECU components in these two models with a total of 11,734 units with a production period of 9 September 2021 – 21 January 2022. A common phenomenon encountered in the affected units above is unstable rpm. , engine knocking, and engine performance choking to death.

Daihatsu recommends customers whose cars are included in the recall program list to be able to bring their favorite vehicles to the nearest Daihatsu authorized workshop to be handled by Daihatsu mechanics without being charged or free.

As for the repair process, on Rocky it will take around 10 working hours, and for GranMax and Luxio models it will take around 15 minutes.

For the recall procedure, Daihatsu will actively contact customers whose vehicles are included in this program. In addition, customers can also independently confirm whether their favorite Daihatsu car is included in this program by visiting the official website at the link www.daihatsu.co.id/recall, by entering the vehicle frame number, or by contacting Daihatsu Access at 1- 500-898.

After receiving information for customers who entered the recall list, they can immediately book a schedule, and come to the official Daihatsu workshop according to the specified time.
