sport">In recent years, however, Schippers has not achieved her top times. Schippers was therefore not a medal candidate for Tokyo in the 100 meters.
Dutch title
sport">In June, Schippers still raced to the Dutch title in the 100 meters. “I can still run fast. I still have the talent and I still want to go for it, but my body doesn’t quite want it right now,” she said at the time. “And that’s hard to accept. I really want to do everything I can and I will always keep fighting, no matter what.”
sport">Schippers would be in action for the first time in Tokyo on Friday. Then at 02:00 (Dutch time) the series of the 100 meters is on the program. The first round of the 200 meters is Monday night, at 03:38.
