[이코노믹리뷰=박자연 기자] Daesang announced on the 17th that it will increase its sales in Indonesia by an additional KRW 1 trillion within 10 years to achieve sales of 1.4 trillion KRW in 2030. Through this, it is planning to be reborn as Indonesia’s’Top 10 General Food Company’.

Daesang’s Indonesia business sales last year stood at 369.7 billion won, up 7% from the previous year. Daesang, who founded Miwon Indonesia in 1973, entered the bio business by exporting plants overseas for the first time in Korea. Since then, it has expanded its business to food and starch sugar.

Daesang is planning to clarify and actively promote business plans for each sector to achieve business results in Indonesia this year. First, the food business plans to diversify the business through the development of new growth engines, advance food sales by sales channel, and expand the main logistics center in Indonesia.

The starch sugar business is expanding production lines for starch syrup to increase sales in the high fructose and low sugar market. The bio business increases production capacity through process automation and makes new investments in the production of functional amino acids. It plans to target countries such as Japan and Taiwan that do not prefer Chinese-made MSG.

CEO Lim Jeong-bae said, “We will continue to invest in the Indonesian business to strengthen our global competitiveness.”
