Daegu Sports High School (Principal Cho Dae-seung) won a total of 52 medals (19 gold, 15 silver, and 18 bronze) and scored about 6,100 points at the ‘105th National Sports Festival‘ held in Gyeongnam from the 11th to the 17th. achieved the best score ever.

From the first day of the competition, Ban Hyo-jin, a gold medalist at the 2024 Paris Olympics, gained momentum by winning two gold medals in the girls’ high school shooting (air rifle) event, and won medals in all events, contributing greatly to Daegu City’s high school reaching 5th place overall.

The gold medals at this National Sports Festival were weightlifting (Dae-hee Kwon, 3 times), archery (3 times, Soo-hee Yoon), high school girls’ shooting-air rifle (2 times Ban Hyo-jin), high school boys’ shooting-air rifle (2 pieces by Jang Byeong-jun), weightlifting (Seong-ho Kim, 2 times), and Won multiple gold medals in weightlifting (Kim Soo-min, 2), and medals in wrestling at 63kg (Min Yeo-jin), track and field 800m (Song Hyun-seo), track and field 400mH (Kwak Ui-chan), gymnastics vault (Ahn Dae-geon), and bicycle girls’ high school sprint demonstration event (Kim Ji-ah). Daegu Sports High School, where all students are student athletes, wakes up at 5:30 a.m. in the dormitory and begins the day with early morning training from 6 a.m. to 7:20 a.m. We have a tough schedule every day, with normal classes from 1st to 5th periods, afternoon training starting at 2:30pm, and night training starting from 7:30pm to 9pm.

This training system is the driving force behind taking third place in the 105th National Sports Festival, following Seoul Sports High School and Gyeonggi Sports High School, and consistently ranking high in the annual National Sports Festival and national competitions against national sports high schools.

Daegu Sports High School is preparing for next year by closely evaluating and analyzing the performance and training system of each sport and player this year.
