General Election Commissions (KPU) Bandung Regency set candidate pair number 3, Dadang Supriatna and Sahrul Gunawan as regent and deputy regent of Bandung elected in the 2020 Pilkada.
The determination of the Dadang-Sahrul pair was only made after the Constitutional Court (MK) decision was issued on Thursday (18/3). The Constitutional Court is known to have rejected the lawsuit regarding the 2020 Bandung Regional Election.
“So with this the KPU of Bandung Regency has appointed Dadang Supriatna and Sahrul Gunawan, the pair number three as the chosen candidate pair,” said the chairman of KPU Bandung Agus Baroya in a plenary meeting held at the Sutan Raja Hotel, Saturday (20/3).
Dadang-Sahrul’s determination is stated in the KPU decision letter 18 / PL.02.7-Kpt / 3204 / Kab / III / 2021 concerning the Determination of the Elected Candidate Pair in the Bandung Regent and Deputy Regent Election in 2020 after the Constitutional Court Ruling. The copy of the decision was handed over to the Dadang-Sahrul pair.
“The KPU of Bandung Regency congratulates the election as Regent and Deputy Regent of Bandung. Of course it is also accompanied by prayers and what is desired, it is hoped that and dreams can be carried out well,” said Agus.
The elected Regent of Bandung, Dadang Supriatna, said that together with Sahrul they had a very important task to maintain the continuity of the government. He invited the candidate pairs who fought in the Bandung Regional Head Election to work together.
“There are no candidate pairs 1, 2, 3 but there are people from Bandung Regency. Therefore, we together build Bandung Regency,” said Dadang.
Dadang-Sahrul was in first place with 928,602 votes in the Bandung Regional Head Election. Dadang-Sahrul is promoted by PKB, NasDem, Democrat, and PKS.
Meanwhile, the pair nominated by Golkar and Gerindra, Kurnia Agustina and Usman Sayogi only received 511,413 valid votes. Then, the pair carried by the PDIP and PAN, Yena Masoem and Atep were in a distended position with around 217,780 valid votes.
