José Antonio Valdés Maldonado, 31 years old, went to get vaccinated against covid-19 disguised as “Enrique”, from Sesame Street, in honor of his 11-year-old son who died of cancer two months ago in New Lion.
“We know that he was very happy with his dad’s sense of humor.”
“Everything was done with a lot of love and in honor of our son, probably many people will not understand it and can call it ridiculous but when their son is remembered even now what others say does not matter,” said Yesenia Pecina, mother of Emmanuel.
Little Emmanuel passed away on June 3, at the age of 11, after fighting cancer for 6 years.
“Our son loved his dad’s witticisms and after a long time the two of us laughed together again,” said Yesenia Pecina to Apodaca in Alert.
“From heaven we know that Emmanuel also laughs with us and that it really does not matter that it seems like an occurrence because it really was an act of pure love,” he added.
“Sometimes my son told me that he was very crazy”
José Antonio Valdés Maldonado, Emmanuel’s father, pointed out to local media that coming dressed as “Enrique”, from Plaza Sésamo, is a tribute to his son.
“This was in honor of him, it is a tribute, to remember everything, of all the happy moments we had, of everything that made him laugh and that sometimes he told me that he was very crazy about all the antics that I I was doing ”, Emmanuel’s father commented in a video posted on Orfa Yesenia Pecina’s social networks.
Emmanuel’s father commented that his first idea was to dress up as Sonic, but he couldn’t get the boot and a friend lent him the one of the famous character “Enrique” from Sesame Street.
“All the people would come up to me and say, ‘Hello, Mr. Elmo,’ and I, ‘I’m not Elmo, I’m Enrique,'” he added.
