Dacia will launch two more large models after the Bigster, but small class cars would not be excluded either. What could come next? – Hot news.ro

Dacia presented at the Paris Motor Show the largest model in its history, the C-class SUV Bigster, the first in a series of three cars that will have similar sizes, but different body types. However, Dacia bosses do not exclude small town models either, and the 100% element is that the Dacia range will receive many completely new models in the coming years.

Dacia and the “C-Neo” program.

It seemed incredible ten years ago that there would be a Dacia with a starting price of 25,000 euros and versions where the final price with many additional options would exceed 30,000 euros. The car market has changed a lot, new cars (besides SH ones) are several thousand euros more expensive than they were a few years ago, and Dacia is increasing its range and will continue to launch big cars, because there is a demand.

“Dacia enters the C-SUV segment with an advanced product strategy. Therefore, in the future, the Bigster will be joined by two other models”, said Dacia in the presentation announcement for the Bigster.

The general manager of the company did not want to say what the two models are, although he was pressed by the media at the Paris Motor Show. “They will have different body types, different names, everything will be different compared to the current Dacia models,” said Denis Le Vot, who was quoted by Autocar UK.

David Durand, Dacia’s head of design, said the design of the next model has been approved and said “you have to expect something completely different” from that new C-segment model.

In 2027 or 2028, an electric Sandero version could also appear, but in 2026, two C-class models a French newspapers and from England he wrote last autumn.

Within Renault, the program is called C-Neo and it would be two C-Class models: a sedan and a station wagon, derived from the technical platform used for the Bigster. They, together with the SUV launched now, will be the largest Dacia models to date, with a length of somewhere around 4.60 meters.

They will have hybrid versions from the start, and in a few years they could also have fully electric versions, but this depends on several factors: taxes imposed on cars in China, market demand, subsidies in Europe for full electricity. Those from Dacia did not provide details about the future C-class models.

Dacia Spring does not die

Dacia officials wanted to clarify one thing about the only electric model of the brand, Spring, assembled in China: there are no plans to drop it, and the refined version costs from 17,000 euros and Dacia expect good sales.

At the end of 2025, the refined version of the Logan 3 sedan will enter the market.

The CEO of Dacia explained in a an interview for the Automotive News publication that through Bigster they hope to attract customers who would have chosen other brands a few years ago, but now see that these cars are a few thousand euros more expensive, and perhaps Dacia looks like the best choice for them, because Bigster “has everything you want, but at a reasonable price”, explains Denis Le Vot.

Le Vot says that Dacia will get many customers from the fact that people in most of the market are moving to more affordable models, so it makes sense that the brand will be present with more models in section C.

The Bigster is built on the so-called CMF-B platform and, company officials say, is not only several thousand euros cheaper than competing models, but is also 150kg lighter, on average.

Dacia enters the C segment to increase its overall sales, but also because the profit margin is higher. Through the Bigster, but also through the following C-class models, Dacia wants to significantly increase its sales in the German and British markets, where larger cars are sought after and where the brand is present. the B segment, through Sandero and Duster.

The CEO of Dacia also said that it would not be forbidden to launch a very small Dacia in the future, a city car that could borrow solutions from other brands in the group, such as Renault or Mobilize. It should not be forgotten that Dacia’s “recipe” for launching reliable cars, at prices lower than the competition, is based on the adaptation of various solutions that are present in other brands in the group.
