Dacia stops production of 3 models, but launches a new family car

Renault is making changes to the portfolio of models of the Romanian brand Dacia, which is part of the French group. The plans of the giant are to present a new family car under the Romanian brand this month, Reuters reports, quoted by Romania Insider.

The seven-seater model is called the Jogger, and it will “replace” three other Dacia models that will no longer be produced. These are the Dacia Logan MCV, Dacia Dokker and Dacia Lodgy.

The new car is part of Renault CEO Luca De Meo’s plan to cut costs by reducing the number of models produced in the group and focusing on more cost-effective ones.

Meanwhile, the new version of the Dacia Sandero, which was introduced at the end of the previous year, became the most purchased model in Europe in July, managing to overtake the Volkswagen Golf.

In the same month, it became clear that Renault was preparing a reorganization of Lada, with the goal of transferring all models of the Russian brand to the CMF-B platform and creating 3 more new cars.
