Dacia sells its millionth CNG car

Dacia is the only car manufacturer to offer a dual-fuel petrol and CNG ECO-G100 drive in its entire range – Sandero, Stepway, Logan, Duster and Jogger.

Since 2010, Dacia has sold one million CNG cars based on Dacia’s proven, user-friendly and economical technology. It is designed to take into account the wants and needs of customers.

Dacia is the leader in the European CNG car market, covering 67% of the market at the end of July 2024; almost 40% of the customers of this brand have chosen CNG cars.

Dacia has been offering dual-fuel gasoline and CNG drives since 2010, and recently reached the milestone of the millionth CNG car (counting all the countries in which it operates). Renamed as ECO-G100 in 2020, the dual-fuel system delivers up to 170Nm of torque from 2,000 rpm and its flexibility brings several benefits.

The ECO-G100 drive is more powerful than the petrol version (with 10 hp and 10 Nm more), with 10% less fuel consumption and produces 10% less CO2 emissions. It has a smaller carbon footprint and produces 90% less particulate matter emissions.

Dacia ECO-G100 drive technology has been tested and improved many times over 14 years. It is already installed in cars at the factory and added using the expertise of the Renault Group. It is as stable and reliable as a gasoline engine.

These cars are designed and built to run on LPG, and the tank is located in the section where the spare wheel is located in other cars, so that it does not take up extra space in the fuel tank or luggage compartment. SNG models come with the same three-year or 100,000 km warranty as all other cars in the Dacia range.

The ECO-G100 drive is economical to buy and drive. CNG is one of the cheapest fuels on the market – in France it costs up to 40% less than brand 95 unleaded petrol, saving you around €40 every time you fill up *.

This technology entitles owners to tax benefits (depending on the region, lighter penalties for environmental damage, incentives to move to another vehicle, total or partial exemption from registration tax, etc.).

A dual fuel petrol car and a CNG car drive equally well with either fuel. There are two separate tanks, each holding around 50 litres** depending on the model. In addition, it is easy to use – the driver can manually switch from one fuel to another or back, and the car can switch to petrol automatically when the LPG tank is empty.

The ECO-G100 drive has a maximum range of up to 1500 km***.

** The Jogger has a 40 liter LPG tank.

*** Based on measurements in the WLTP cycle – actual range may vary depending on car and driving style.
