Dacia sold 493,511 vehicles (passenger cars and utility vehicles) in the first nine months of 2023, up 16.7% compared to the same period in 2022. The most sought-after models were Sandero, Duster, Spring and Jogger, reports News.ro.
“Dacia sold 493,511 vehicles (VP+VU) in the first 9 months of 2023, up 16.7% compared to the same period of 2022. In the third quarter, Dacia sold 148,124 vehicles, up 2.4% more compared to the similar period of last year, when the brand registered the highest market share in its sales area”, announces the car manufacturer.
The 4 reference models of the brand register significant increases in the first 9 months: Spring : +40.6%, Sandero : +18.3%, Duster : +4.1% and Jogger : +76.1%.
The market share of the Dacia brand in the VP segment remains stable in Europe in the first 9 months of 2023, despite the decrease in the share of the sales channel to private customers in the European market as a whole (from 44% to 40%).
On the sales channel to private customers, Dacia confirms its second place at the European level, with a market share in the retail segment of 8.4%, up by 0.8 percentage points compared to the similar period of 2022.
Sales of the Dacia Sandero model amount to 199,516 vehicles, up 18.3% compared to the same period of the previous year. Sandero maintains its 1st place in the ranking of the best-selling models to private customers in Europe since 2017.
With 154,460 units sold, Dacia Duster registers an increase of 4.1% compared to the same period of 2022 and remains the best-selling SUV to private customers in Europe.
Dacia Jogger was sold in 70,932 copies in the first 9 months of the year, up by 76.1% compared to the same period of 2022. Jogger thus maintains the first position in the top of the best-selling C segment models (excluding SUVs ) to private customers.
With 44,262 units sold, Spring registers an increase of 40.6% compared to the same period of the previous year and remains in the Top 3 of the best-selling electric vehicles in the retail segment in Europe.
Dacia sales on the VP (Passenger Vehicles) market in Europe increased in the reference interval by 19.6% (compared to a market increase of +16.9%).
Dacia’s market share in the European VP segment reached 4.4%, up by +0.1 percentage points compared to the same period last year, despite an unfavorable mix of sales channels (Private Persons/Legal Persons) .
In its traditional segment, that of sales to private customers, Dacia remains on the European podium, with a market share of 8.4%.
In Romania, Dacia sales amount to 36,069 VP+VU units, up 29.2%.
The market share of the brand in the VP segment increased by 3 percentage points compared to the similar period of 2022.
Regarding sales on the retail channel (individual customers), the market share of the Dacia brand stands at 40.1%, up by 4.6 percentage points compared to the first nine months of last year.
The top five best-selling models on the VP market are entirely occupied by Dacia models.
Each model of the brand is in first place in terms of sales in its market segment.
In France, Dacia registered 118,495 vehicles (VP+VU) in the first 9 months of 2023, up 23.2% compared to the same period of 2022. The market share in the passenger car segment reached 9.1%, up by 0.5 percentage points and places Dacia in 3rd place in the ranking of the best-selling brands on the VP market.
On the retail market (sales to private customers), Dacia is the best-selling brand in France.
Sandero is the best-selling model to private customers and ranks 3rd in sales on the total market.
Spring ranks second in electric vehicle sales, both in the retail segment and in the overall market.
Duster is the best selling SUV in the retail segment.
Jogger is the best-selling C-segment model to private customers.
In Italy, Dacia sold 66,160 vehicles (VP+VU) in the first 9 months of the current year, up 29.3% compared to the same period last year. The market share of the brand is increasing by 0.3 percentage points.
Dacia maintains its first position in the retail segment, with a share of 9.3% and with 2 models in the Top 3: Sandero, in 2nd place and Duster, in third place.
In Germany, Dacia sales amount to 51,703 units (VP+VU), up 25.2% compared to the same period of 2022. The market share of the brand in the VP segment increases by 0.2 percentage points.
Dacia ranks 4th in the retail segment, with 3 models in the Top 15.
Sandero is the third best-selling model in Germany to private customers and Duster ranks third in the SUV segment on the same sales channel.
On the Spanish market, Dacia sales increased by 23%, to 34,624 units (VP+VU) in the first 9 months of 2023. The market share of the brand is increasing by 0.2 percentage points.
In the retail segment, Dacia ranks 4th.
Sandero is the best-selling model on the Spanish market both in the overall market and in the retail segment.
