♦ The Renault group creates five separate divisions ♦ The Renault Mécanique Roumanie plant, which produces engines and transmissions, will be part of “Horse” and will be shared between Renault and Geely’s Chinese ♦ The stakes are to double volumes and sales.
The Renault Romania plant in Mioveni, which produces engines and transmissions, will be part of the new “Horse” entity which will be owned 50% by the Renault Group and 50% by Geely. This is the first strong entry of the Chinese group in Romania and substantially the Dacia cars will be equipped with engines supplied by a half-Chinese company.
“Horse will be able to be a supplier not only for the Renault Group, but will also be able to supply to other companies. Horse will have eight customers worldwide including Renault, Geely, Dacia, Nissan or Proton. In this way we will double the volumes delivered”, said Luca de Meo, CEO of the Renault Group.
