Just a few days ago, Dacia launched the new Duster model, and the first images of the car awaited by millions of Romanians went around the world, not just the country. And that’s because it’s a budget car that promises to deliver the feel of one in a higher price range.

At least from an aesthetic point of view, Dacia has already struck with the new Duster, and the specialized press in Europe could not overlook this aspect.

“A little over a week has passed since the official launch of the new Dacia Duster 2024, the new generation of the successful SUV produced by the original Romanian manufacturer. A unanimously appreciated car, extremely interesting and it seems that even the people from Renault, the group that owns Dacia, literally fell in love with it”notes the Italian publication Auto Everyeye.

Next, the same publication cites authorized sources from France and announces that Renault wants to take full advantage of the success of the new Duster and has already made the decision to produce a “twin” of the Romanian SUV.

It is about the Renault Niagara, a model that has been presented in recent months, only in the form of a concept. However, Renault has now decided to put it into production. Dacia Duster and Renault Niagara not only look very similar, but also share the exact same platform, as the quoted source notes.

The new Dacia Duster model will go into production as soon as possible

However, the official launch in the case of Renault Niagara would take place in 2024. Instead, the new Dacia Duster will already be on the streets in the first part of next year, with the car going into production in the coming weeks, as announced by Mihai Bordeanu , the head of Dacia in Romania.

“We are a few weeks away from starting production of the new Duster generation at Mioveni. It is an extraordinary thing. We are talking about the best-selling SUV in Europe, in retail, for the last 6 years. It is a source of pride for everyone on the Mioveni platform, from the engineering center in Titu, from the design center in Bucharest and for all of us”said Bordeanu.

He also announced the possibility that in the future Dacia will launch another SUV, only bigger than the Duster:

“In 2025, at the beginning of the year we will launch the Bigster, a C-segment car, bigger than the Duster. To be ready to produce the Bigster in 2025, we have to work very hard next year. It will be a big challenge. The pattern (n.a. Bigster) it has already arrived in Romania at the design center and will further reach the technical center in Titu”added Mihai Bordeanu, in November.
