Dacia Duster has a facelift

The second generation Dacie Duster is on the market for the fourth year, so it’s time for a minor upgrade. So, at first glance – if we look at the novelty more closely, we will find that it is not just a little makeup.

In terms of appearance, it looks a bit like an emergency virtue – from the outside we see new LED lamps at both ends of the car, a slightly modified radiator grille – but still with old logo – and a new orange color. It is worth mentioning, however, that the new duster with daylight also shines at the back.

The car also got a new rear spoiler and 16 ”and 17” wheels, which together with new wheel bearings and standard tires helped to reduce CO2 emissions, ie fuel consumption, by up to 5.8 grams per kilometer in the version with an ATV.

The biggest change in the cabin is the new infotainment. In addition to the basic ordinary radio, there are Media Display and Media Nav systems with dua logan-sandero, which was introduced a few months ago. Both systems can work with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Notice the new display and the two USB ports below; there can be up to four in the cabin in total.

In addition, there is a new seat upholstery and center tunnel console with armrest, and most importantly, rechargeable USB ports for rear passengers. Until now, the whole car had a single socket above the central display. Cruise control with backlit steering wheel control or automatic lights is also standard.

Ready for the field

The Duster has always excelled in its driving skills in all conditions, and in the upgraded version – at least on paper – it’s no different. The ground clearance is over 21 cm depending on the version, the approach angles of the ATV are 30 ° at the front and 33 ° at the rear. The so-called 4×4 Monitor has also been improved, which gives the driver information on inclinations, altitude and sides of the world.

Knowing inclines is useful in the field.

Under the hood there is a choice of four engines, the number of which indicates the power in horsepower. One is a diesel one – the four-cylinder Blue dCi 115 can be powered by front or all-wheel drive – and the other five petrol. The TCe 100 LPG version will impress you with its savings, but it is not possible to add a 4×4 drive.

The classic petrol variants are TCe 90 and TCe 130 for front-wheel drive and TCe 150 with ATV. You get all these options with a manual six-speed, but for those interested in a dual-clutch transmission, the duster finally offers at least one version – the TCe 150 EDC6, but exclusively with front-wheel drive.

Great ground clearance as the main currency of the duster remains.

The new rear spoiler helps reduce fuel consumption by reducing air resistance.

The mentioned version on LPG improved in the volume of the gas tank, the usable capacity of which increased by 15 liters to 48.8 l. Together with the 50 l petrol tank, according to the manufacturer, this means a range of 1235 km per filling. In addition, the gas fuel gauge is integrated in the instrument panel, and the fact that the car emits 9.5% less CO2 than petrol when driving on LPG is also irrelevant.

From the point of view of driving assistants, the equipment is a bit poorer, but the important thing is – blind spot monitoring, hill start assistant, parking sensors for ATVs and also a descent assistant for steep hills. Cameras for a 360 ° view around the car are also available.

The modernized Duster will be available on the market from September this year. At that time, we should also know the prices.
