For the first time since the Renault Group took over the Dacia brand, under the leadership of Luca de Meo, the brand will have its own board of directors, together with Lada, given that the synergies between the two brands will increase in the coming years, writes Ziarul Financiar.
The decision was taken in the context in which since the summer of last year Luca de Meo announced that each brand in the group must receive more “freedom” and said he was amazed by the results of Dacia in terms of profitability.
Denis le Vot will be appointed CEO of the two brands, Dacia and Lada, after until now he was executive vice president within the Renault Group for Dacia and Renault, and Yves Caratzanis, who in the period 2016-2018 was the president of Automobile Dacia, remains in as president of AvtoVaz, the company that produces cars under the Lada brand. On the other hand, Mihai Bordeanu remains head of country for Dacia in Romania, and in his subordination remain the sales activities in the region – Romania, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova – along with the plant in Mioveni.
Dacia represents 20% of the Renault Group’s sales, and in Romania the French have the second largest research and development center, after the one in Paris, completed by a test center at Titu and a network of suppliers that deliver almost 70% of components of a Logan.
