Llíria (from our newsletter) – The Czech team advanced from the third place of the four-member group. In the first two matches at the Bašný trust, the trustees lost to the favored Germans and Hungarians.
–
In the next phase of the tournament, which consists of four six-member groups, the Czechs will play with Denmark, South Korea and the Congo as three advancers from the basic group F.
–
The first duel awaits the national team on Wednesday with South Korea. The Czech team will play against Denmark on Friday and will compete with the Congo on Sunday. The Baske’s trustees move to the town of Granollers. Only the first two teams from each group will advance to the elimination phase, which will be played from the quarterfinals. The Czechs will not transfer a point from the basic group, so their hopes for the playoffs are now only theoretical.

A successful introduction, then suffering
At the beginning of the match, there was nervousness from both sides. Inaccurate passes, hasty shots, offensive fouls. In six minutes, only one goal was scored, and he was also happy when Jeřábková’s spotted shot fell into the net. The Czechs took advantage of the opponent’s technical mistakes and took the lead 6: 3. But subsequently Jeřábková was expelled and the Czech game disintegrated.
–
The Slovaks won the power play 2: 0 and did not slow down even then. They won the passage between the 13th and 21st minute with an abysmal difference of 9: 1! All Czech chances were covered by the great catcher Oguntoye, and suddenly the opponent led by five goals.
–
However, the Czech team managed to bounce back from the bottom. Alternating Stříšková, who had to replace Mala, who hit her knee when she fell, escaped to the break twice. Then the other fighters Zachová and the returning Malá, which leveled at 12:12, also succeeded.
–
At the end of the half, Knedlíková ran into the escape, the returning Slovak clutch Bujnochová tripped over her and received a direct red card. In addition, Zach succeeded again at seven and set a half-time score of 15:14.
–
Red also for the Czech Republic
The second half was a real tug. At 16:16, the Czech player also received a red card, as Holanová hit her opponent in the face with her hand. Neither team was able to bounce back on a bigger difference. When Slovakia could go to the blockbuster, Réka Bíziková hit the top bar from seven. Knedlíková, on the other hand, refused a two-goal lead when she failed to escape on her own.
–
It was not a beautiful handball show, it was played on blood and it was clear how important the match was. After two successful interventions, Kordovská joyfully shouted at the entire, solidly filled hall and heckled the Czech substitute. After a long passage without goals, Jeřábková took the ball twice in a row and in the 57th minute she shot the Czech Republic a decisive lead of 24:22.
–
The Slovaks could have leveled in the last attack, but even that would not be enough for them to advance. In addition, Kudláčková caught Lanczová’s shot and the national team started a massive celebration of the excited progress.
