Czechia – Germany 0: 2, Vain fight! The Czechs burned down on the German defense, falling under Jalonen for the first time

Last week, the Czechs defeated Austria twice in the first tests before the World Cup in Tampere – in Znojmo 5: 1 and in Linz 4: 1. The Czech team will meet for the next phase of preparation on Easter Monday in Ostrava and will be met by two Euro Hockey Challenge duels in Slovakia. On Thursday, April 21, he will start at 5:30 pm in Spišská Nová Ves and two days later from 3:00 pm in Trenčín.

Right at the beginning, Smejkal prepared a chance for Blümel, but goalkeeper Jenike intervened. The Czechs had the upper hand at the beginning, but in the 6th minute the Germans were happy with the lead. From the left circle, Schmölz overcame Kváč and scored the same as in Thursday’s defeat. Jalonen’s team failed to catch up with the final pass and, on the contrary, Fleischer had another chance for the opponent and Karachun also threatened.

In the 12th minute, after Zdráhal’s pass, he found himself alone in front of Jenik Navrátil, but missed. The home team did not succeed even during Rogl’s punishment, and even Černoch’s attempt did not bring about a settlement.

Czech chances not used

At the beginning of the second part, the Czech goalkeeper squeezed out Jentzsch’s dotted attempt with a mask. Then he didn’t have an exact Kahun fly. In the 28th minute, Kodýtek was close to leveling, but the puck stopped in the goal area. When Krejčík was eliminated in the middle of the second half, Karachun did not hit the goal and Höfflin headed for the upper post. The Germans defended themselves against Wagner’s punishment.

At the turn of the second and third thirds, the Czechs withstood Smejkal’s four-minute suspension. After a break, Schmölz pushed in front of the goal, but Kváča hit. Bender’s foul shortened the long power play by 38 seconds. In the middle of the third part, Jenike fired Smejkal’s shot.

In the 54th minute, Flek was able to equalize in his own weakness, but he hit the top bar. Zdráhal had another option. During the power play, however, Höfflin scored an empty goal from his own defensive zone and sealed the victory of the team of Finnish coach Toni Söderholm.
