The Czech softball players advanced to the finals of the European Championships at home.
The first inning was successful for the Danish softball players, when Frederik Terkelsen fired the home run and the opponents formed a three-point lead. They scored more points in the third and fifth innings. The Czech softball players checked in the third inning, when Lukáš Kubát scored the first point with a shot behind the fence. In the fifth inning, Mikuláš Klas managed to hit the outer field with full goals, thus scoring three points. “We should have kept the low pitches I’ve been waiting for,” he said.
The score was reversed by Jakub Hajný, who fired the home run and scored two points. It was his fifth shot behind a fence in the tournament and he is the best batsman in this statistic so far. He was twice successful in Friday’s match against Lithuania, which the Czechs won 10-0. An important step to victory was added by the pitcher Jonáš Hajný, who showed three strikeouts in the last seventh inning and the match could be over. “I was calmer, I had no goals. I felt fine, I enjoyed it, “added Hajný.
On Saturday, the Czech players will once again challenge Danes in the final of the European Championship. It can be expected that Michal Holobrádek, the best Czech pitcher, will start. The Danes will also send their best player to the pitching ring. “We have to get him really good, change our tactics and play accordingly,” Klas planned.
