Czechs in action
Bouzková is already in the semi-finals of the doubles
Marie Bouzková and the American Bethanie Matteková-Sands will play the doubles semi-final on the clay 1000 in Rome. In the evening quarterfinals, the Czech-American duo defeated the second seeded Ukrainian Ljudmila Kičenokova and Latvian Jelena Ostapenko 7:6(3) and 6:3.
Bouzková and Matteková-Sands will challenge Australian Storm Hunter and Belgian Elise Mertens in the semifinals of the tournament four.
Nosková advanced to the quarterfinals in Paris
Linda Nosková (54th) advanced to the quarterfinals at the WTA 125 clay event in Paris. At the end of Wednesday’s program, she beat Katherine Sebova (145th) from Canada 7:5 and 6:2 on the center court in one hour and 26 minutes, to whom she avenged her defeat in the opening round of this year’s Australian Open qualification. The tournament four averted seven out of eight break points in the match, and the 18-year-old Czech was successful on four occasions.
Nosková experienced the most difficult moments in the second half of the opening act, when she lost the advantage of the break and faced a set point at 4:5. Fortunately, she deflected it and by winning three games in a row, she definitively turned the set win over to her side. In the second set, she allowed only two games to her six-year-old opponent.
In the next round, Nosková will face the French Diane Parry (109th).
Menšík turned round the round of 16 with Ionel
Jakub Menšík (333rd) recorded his seventh winning match in a row. The 17-year-old Czech, who won his first challenger title in Sparta last week, turned a dramatic round of 16 with Nicholas David Ionel (205th) from Romania at the event of the same category in Tunis.
The duel, which lasted almost three and a quarter hours, was won by Menšík after a great fight with a score of 6:7(5), 6:4 and 7:5, although he was a break behind in the second and third sets. For the semi-finals, the talented teenager will play against the highest ranked Croatian Borna Goj (102nd).

Voráčová managed the doubles drama
Doubles player Renata Voráčová entered the event of the WTA 125 category in Florence as a winner. The experienced Czech, together with the Taiwanese Fang-hsien Wu, defeated the Slovenian-Australian pair Dalila Jakupovičová, Olivia Tjandramuliaová in the first round after sets 6:7(5), 7:6(5) and 10:5. The Italians Angelica Moratelliová and Camilla Rosatellová await them in the quarterfinals.
Deblister Kolodziejová finishes in Paris
Miriam Kolodziejová and her partner Tereza Mihalíková failed to enter the WTA 125 clay tournament in Paris. The Czech-Slovak pair did not get a single break point in the first round of the doubles and lost to the Korean-Chinese pair Su-jeong Jang, Chao-süan Jang after an hour and 11 minutes 4:6 and 2:6.
