Sixteen-year-old Czech tennis player Brenda Fruhvirtová did not advance to the main competition of this year’s US Open in New York. In the opening round of qualification, she lost to the Japanese Uchiyama 1:6 and 2:6.
Fruhvirtová had two clay titles and a streak of ten victories in a row, but she couldn’t make the transition to American concrete. The Czech player, who is ranked 121st in the WTA ranking, lost to Moyuca Uchijamaová 1:6 and 2:6 in just 75 minutes. At the same time, Fruhvirtová entered the match as a favorite, the Japanese is more than fifty places lower in the ranking.
