Czech Richest Man Killed in Helicopter Crash in USA Page all

ALASKA, KOMPAS.com – The man who is crowned as the richest man in the Czech Republic, Petr Kellner, died in a helicopter crash of Alaska, United States of America (AS).

The news of the billionaire’s death was said by the investment company PPF on Monday (29/3/2021). Kellner died at the age of 56.

Through its official website, PPF said that five people died in the helicopter crash.

“We announce with great sadness that the founder and majority owner of PPF, Petr Kellner, died tragically,” PPF said in a statement.

Kellner was a businessman who towered over the aftermath of the collapse of communism in the Czech Republic Asia One.

According to Forbes, his wealth is estimated at 17.5 billion US dollars (Rp 252 trillion). Prime Minister Andrej Babis expressed condolences for Kellner’s death.

“What a tragedy. I am very sorry,” Babis said on Twitter.

Kellner’s name rose to prominence in the 1990s when he founded PPF as an investment company.

In the mid-1990s, PPF took a stake in the former national insurance company Ceska Pojistovna, a stepping stone for further growth.

PPF then grew in the fields of insurance, finance, telecommunications, manufacturing, media, and biotechnology in businesses whose wings expanded to Europe, Asia and the US.

PPF is the main owner of a finance company Home Credit. The company is growing rapidly in China and several countries in Southeast Asia.

PPF’s telecommunications infrastructure company, Cetin, also said it was considering a public offering and other options.

Kellner died when PPF acquired a stake in the Czech bank Moneta Money Bank. He often avoids public attention but is known as a performer ski reliable.

Alaska State Forces said on Sunday that five people, including Kellner, were killed and one wounded in the helicopter crash.

The accident occurred at Knik Glacier, northeast of Anchorage. The helicopter transports skiers on tour inland.
