Czech Republic’s Changing Market: Enter Allegro and Say Goodbye to Price Inflation

For a long time, the Czech market paid for a very conserved and closed one. New traders did not want to enter it at all. But that seems to be changing, as a unique window of opportunity has opened. After years, people started to solve prices again. And the existing retail chains have themselves to blame for this. They simply overdid it with the prices, so the Czech Republic became one of the most expensive countries in Europe and clearly the most expensive in its region.

Senseless prices in the Czech Republic

Neighboring Poland clearly shows how it should be done. It is there that people go shopping more and more often and find that they buy food there thirty to fifty percent cheaper. Because of this, even a longer journey is worth considering, especially when you can also refuel here cheaper.

But food is one thing and all other goods are another. Until recently there was a certain belief that the Czech Republic is not exactly the cheapest, but the prices here are actually more or less reasonable. But even that changed after it became known that, for example, IKEA in the Czech Republic is also the most expensive in the region, and in Poland its prices are often half as much.

Recently, one customer drew attention to another obscenity. He wanted to buy a toilet seat, and he found out that what is sold here for 3,000 crowns is usually available in Poland for a thousand. In short, traders have so far sinned that people want to order things from the Czech Republic and not from abroad. But that is gradually changing.

Everything will change

A major change is the entry of a major player on the Czech market. It is the company Allegro, which started operating its marketplace here. This promises the lowest prices ever on the Czech market and also a huge selection of goods. Both are not just empty promises, but reality. On this marketplace, you can also order goods from Polish merchants in a single interface, which you won’t even notice.

Well, you will notice it, but mainly according to the price, which is significantly lower. After all, one of the customers is already clear: “I am convinced that Allegro will be a killer for many Czech ecommerce participants, together with a possible recession it will be a deadly cocktail for some,” said the person in question on his Twitter.

It’s actually simple. This store offers Czechs in full display the possibilities that Poles have when buying consumer goods. Postage and shipping are free and prices are significantly lower. Everything will be delivered to you as if you ordered from a Czech e-shop.
