Slovak floorball players lost 1:10 to the Czech Republic in the final of the World Cup qualifying tournament. As the winners of their groups, both countries were already certain to advance to the final December tournament in Malmö, Sweden.
The reigning vice-champions confirmed their role as favorites from the start and opened the scoring in the 17th second. The Czechs controlled the course of the entire opening act, Matej Havlas scored four times and his team led 6:0. At the beginning of the middle third, Michal Dudovič reduced.
However, the Slovaks were unable to take advantage of two power plays, conceding twice in each act and taking second place at the event.
