The President of the Czech Republic Petar Pavel said that there will be significant changes in Russia’s war with Ukraine in 2024. This will be connected with the elections in the Russian Federation and the United States of America. This is what he said in an interview with Seznam Zprávy.
“We have a lot of work to do because the development of the conflict in Ukraine shows that we are likely to see significant changes in the coming year. And so far, everything indicates that this will not be in the best sense of the word, as we wish. A new situation will arise that we will have to deal with,” Pavel said.

The Czech leader noted that presidential elections will be held in the USA and Russia in 2024. And if in Russia the dictator Vladimir Putin wins without any surprises, in the USA the outcome is not so clear.
“And we can expect that the elections will also lead to certain changes on the battlefield. After all, President Putin has made it absolutely clear that there can be no talk of any peace talks until the outcome of the United States election is clear,” he said.
He believes that now Putin hopes that Trump will win the election because he will be easier to understand. “Of course, such a situation is not advantageous for us, and we will see how far such a scenario, as Vladimir Putin hopes, can be realized,” Pavel added.
