Czech Petr Nouza (25) has an 8-0 record – Mister Tennis Bundesliga 2024 comes from the champion

The Marc O’Polo team Rosenheim had the best tennis Bundesliga season, played for the title until the last match day and ended up finishing in a fantastic fourth place. But Rosenheim also has the best doubles player of all ten first division teams in its ranks. It is Petr Nouza from the Czech Republic, who finished with an outstanding 8:0 record.

“We could always rely on Petr, that was really great,” said board member Dieter Dörfler and manager Thomas Detterbeck in unison, praising the 25-year-old. He comes from Prague and won seven doubles matches, mostly with fellow countryman Roman Jebavy, who also had an impressive 7:1 record. Nouza also played in singles once and was victorious there too. The Czech is not even in the top 100 in the doubles world rankings. Nouza is number 108, and was previously number 79. Of the doubles experts in the league, the only player who was similarly good was Constantin Frantzen from champions TC Großhesselohe, who also remained undefeated and won seven out of seven doubles matches.

TC Bredeney records the most individual successes

Speaking of doubles: In the past three years, when Rosenheim was always fighting against relegation, they were always a major weakness and always had a negative record, but this year this was where the team’s great strength lay. Eleven wins was the great result out of a possible 18 – just like Großhesselohe. Of all the teams, only Blau-Weiß Aachen was better here, finishing sixth and having a doubles record of 12:6. TC Bredeney had the most singles wins, the only club to remain undefeated, finishing with three wins and six draws. Bredeney’s singles record was 26:10. The champions were only dethroned because their doubles record was abysmal at 8:10. In the singles record, TC Großhesselohe came closest to the Essen suburban club with 24:12. Rosenheim came 20:16 here.

The player with the most wins of all Bundesliga teams comes from the champions. His name is Jozef Kovalik and he is Slovakian. The 31-year-old from Bratislava is currently ranked 115 in the ATP rankings, played for Großhesselohe twelve times and had a 6:2 singles and 4:0 doubles record, i.e. 10:2. This makes Kovalik “Mister Bundesliga 2024”. Benjamin Hassan from Kurhaus Aachen (3:3 singles/7:0 doubles) and Botic van der Zanschulp from Gladbach (7:0 singles/3:3 doubles) also had ten wins but three losses, followed by Oscar Otte from Bredeney, who also won ten times and lost four times (7:2 singles/3:2 doubles).

Frankfurt and Augsburg must go down

This year’s relegated teams are TC Palmengarten Frankfurt and promoted Augsburg Siebentisch. In 2025, TC Bad Vilbel will move up as champions of the 2nd Bundesliga South, and ten-time German champions Blau-Weiß Neuss as champions of the 2nd Bundesliga North.
