Czech Krystyna Pyszková Wins Miss World 2024 – Exclusive Interview and Highlights

Czech Krystyna Pyszková became the winner of the 71st annual Miss World international beauty contest. She made it to the finals in Mumbai, India, the organizers announced, posting on social media her photos with the winner’s crown and sash. The native of Třinec is the second Czech to win the prestigious Miss World title, in 2006 Taťána Kuchařová won the competition.

At the beginning of the final evening, 112 girls and women from all over the world competed for the title. Along with Pyszková, the last four contestants included beauties from Lebanon, Trinidad and Tobago and Botswana.

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský paid an unplanned visit to the beauty pageant a week ago. The Czech diplomatic delegation thus used the time after being stuck in Mumbai due to a plane malfunction. Lipavský was invited by the director of Miss Czech Republic, Taťána Makarenko.

The first Miss World was organized in 1951 by British bingo lottery pioneer Eric Morley. He gave it the name Festival Bikini Contest, the media rechristened it Miss World. Due to its great success, Morley decided to hold the pageant every year. Perhaps he was also prompted by the advent of the Californian competition, which in 1952 started with Miss Universe.

In addition to Kuchařová’s victory, the second biggest success at the Miss World competition in 1998 was the fourth place of the then Czech vice-miss Alena Šeredová. Czech women were also successful in other competitions – in 1995 Monika Žídkova became Miss Europe and in 2012 Tereza Fajksová became Miss Earth.
