The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila recently hosted the Czech Industry Forum 2023 in partnership with the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The forum was a highlight of the Czech delegation’s visit to the Philippines, led by Prime Minister Petr Fiala and Czech Chamber of Commerce President Vladimír Dlouhý. Over 100 business leaders and representatives from different institutions throughout the country participated in this highly anticipated event, which was officially opened by Prime Minister Fiala himself.
In his welcome remarks, Prime Minister Fiala commended the Philippines for its growing economy, dynamic workforce, and ambitious modernization programs, while noting that the Czech Republic is known for advanced manufacturing industry, cutting-edge technology, and innovative solutions. PCCI President George Barcelon also emphasized the importance of renewing opportunities in trade and investment between the Philippines and the Czech Republic, particularly in industry strengths such as agriculture, defense, transportation, mining, and energy.
During the forum, PCCI and CCC signed a Memorandum of Understanding, a significant step toward enhancing trade and economic relations between the Philippines and the Czech Republic. Additionally, several companies, including Tesla Technologies, Smart Citi Teknologi, and Colt CZ Group SE, among others, sealed deals and shook hands during the ceremonial signing.
The conference also provided a networking platform for representatives from the government, chambers, and business leaders from various industries to discuss new trends and opportunities for both countries. With this successful event, the Czech Republic and the Philippines look forward to a promising future of partnership and growth.
