Czech hockey goalkeeper Tomáš Vošvrda ended his playing career at the age of 33. During it, he tried various competitions, played 202 matches in the Slovak extra league during five seasons.

“After 16 years of professional hockey, I have decided to stop being an active goaltender and start a new chapter in my life. I will devote myself to other things around hockey and beyond,” he said on social networks.

In the Slovak extra league, he left the most significant mark in HK Poprad, where he played for three seasons. He also worked in Liptovský Mikuláš and Michalovci, from where he left for Vsetín during the 2022/2023 season.

“I was still waiting for options around Poprad, but none of them worked out for various reasons, and I didn’t want to travel anywhere alone without my family,” he admitted.

In the highest Slovak competition, he achieved a total of 91.88 percent save success, an average of 2.50 conceded goals per match and kept a clean sheet in 18 matches.
