“Czech Goalkeeper Selection for World Cup Divides Experts”

Arizona’s goalkeeper is the biggest favorite for the post of goalkeeper number one in the national team. “He is the goalkeeper on whom it must stand. He’s used to it. Arizona was below average and Karel needs to feel confidence from the beginning and get to a wider field so that he believes in himself. Karel is number one for me,” the forty-four-year-old Duda convinces.

The editor-in-chief of Sport.cz, Martin Kézr, has a different idea about the choice of a masked man in the goal area. “I would put Šimon Hrubec against the Slovaks. It seems to me that he is currently in a better mood than Karel Vejmelka. But in general, I expect the goaltenders to rotate during the first five games against relatively weaker opponents. Only the last week of the championship against Switzerland will determine the goalkeeper who will continue to catch,” the journalist thinks.

But there is agreement on a good goalkeeper selection. “It’s a pleasant worry when we know that we can reach anywhere among the goalkeepers,” describes Kézr. “We have enough perfect goalkeepers, we have a lot to choose from,” agrees former hockey sensation Duda.
