Finnish club Ilves Tampere revealed the signings for the upcoming season via a YouTube show on Monday. Czech forwards Šimon Stránský and Petr Kodýtek also figure among them.
After all, Tampere has been a relatively popular destination for domestic hockey players in recent years. And despite the departure of Marko Langhamer, there will again be a large Czech group in the third largest city of Finland.
Stránský and Kodýtek will meet the talented goalkeeper Jakub Málek, and the young forward Jakub Kos is also waiting for a breakthrough into the starting line-up. Another goalkeeper Patrik Hamrla is coming from overseas.
Currently, we can find almost five compatriots on the Ilves roster. Defender Dominik Mašín played for the bronze team last season, but no further information about his future is known yet.

Under the Ore Mountains, however, he ended prematurely due to a clause in the contract. There were whispers in the hockey circles about a transfer to Kärpät Oulu, but the creative creator of the game ended up signing with Tampere.
“We have been following Šimon closely, we were interested in him already a year ago.”
“We watched Šimon closely, we were interested in him a year ago. He has taken a big step forward, he is a really skilled and mature player,” sports manager Timo Koskela tells the club’s website.

” href=” on the other hand, will try a foreign competition for the first time in his career. The diminutive striker gradually built a great reputation in his native Pilsen, and since 2020 he has been among the essential faces of the Indians.
He finished last year with a balance of 34 points (15+19), but he was absent from the beginning of February due to health problems. The West Bohemian club confirmed his end in March, stating that Kodýtek rejected the offer of a new contract.
“Petr is a reliable and versatile player who thinks about the interests of the team.”
“Petr is a reliable and versatile player who thinks about the interests of the team. We are really happy that he chose Ilves from his many offers,” says Koskelu.
Both players also belong to the broader Czech national team: Stránský recently fought for participation in this year’s World Championship, Kodýtek then participated in the Karjala Cup and the Swiss Games at the end of the 2022 calendar year.
Ilves has signed fourteen player contracts.
Joining the team are Jonas Gunnarsson, Patrik Hamrla, Niklas Friman, Arttu Pelli, Joni Jurmo, Oula Palve, Šimon Stránský, Petr Kodýtek, Juuso Könönen, Samuli Ratinen and Ville Meskanen.
