28-year-old Czech defenseman Radek Prokeš has joined the hockey team of HC Nové Zámky. He will try the Slovak extra league for the first time in his career, he played the last two seasons in the international IceHL. The club informed about the new acquisition on the official website.
“Bulls” goalkeeper Pavel Kantor also played a role in Prokeš’s decision to accept the Novozámok offer. “We are from the same city and we experienced a successful season together in Znojmo. “Kanty” spoke only positively about Nové Zámky and recommended me to choose the “Bulls”. I believe that we will be able to overcome last year’s successful season and that many fans will come to our matches and make them happy.” commented Prokeš, who has spent most of his career so far mainly in Czech competitions.
In the local extra league, he played 25 games, in which he collected 7 Canadian points for 3 goals and 4 assists. “We are happy that Radek will be part of our team. He is a hard-working and well-built player who is valid in the area in front of the goal. Last but not least, he is the right guy who plays for the team, so I believe that he will bring the necessary energy to our team, ” said coach Erik Čaládi.
