“During the stage I had a flat tire, had to change my bike and it was quite unpleasant. But I still managed to get back to the front,” said Kopecky in a press release. “I had a weak moment on the penultimate climb, I fell off, but then I finished it and I sprinted,” said the 18-year-old Czech cyclist.
Kvasničková, who is the same age, was 41 seconds behind Kulynyčová overall, half a minute away from the second Polish woman. “I rode pretty well. Certainly better than I thought I would ride in those hills. It turned out great,” commented the Czech rider, who was second in the opening time trial, on her successful fight to maintain third place.
