České Budějovice announced the first two signings for the new season. Defenders Pavel Pýcha and David Štich will once again wear the Motor jersey (both played in Mladá Boleslav this year).

Pavel Pycha

defender, 27 years old

There has been speculation about the transfer of Pride for a long time, now it is official. The 27-year-old back is thus returning to where he was very successful in the past.

Motoru’s offspring shone for the South Bohemian club in the Chance League in the 2019/2020 season, when he collected a record 60 Canadian points! With Budějovice, he also won promotion to the extra league, and he also did well one floor higher.

He then got the lasso from Mladá Boleslav, where he spent two years.

“Pavel Pýcha is a student from České Budějovice, a member of the national team and a player with an excellent hockey mindset. The effort to get him back was completely logical and we are very happy that everything was completed,” explains sports manager Jiří Novotný.

David Stich

defender, 33 years old

” href=” which was also in Mladá Boleslav this year? The whole extra league knows him as a big tough guy.

The 33-year-old defender knows how to get under the skin of his opponents, often even going over the edge. In addition, he has played 481 matches in the Czech top flight (he played in Litvínov, Chomutov, Kladno, Slavia or Liberec, for example).

David Štich couldn’t control himself in the derby

Now he is returning to a familiar environment, he played in České Budějovice last season.

“David Štich is typologically the player we missed this season. He can perfectly clear the space in front of the goalkeeper and, among other things, he is also an excellent boy in the booth,” Novotný is clear.
