BRATISLAVA. Czech biathlete Tereza Jandová decided to end her promising career at the age of 22.
As she stated in a post on Instagram, the reason is serious health problems. She admitted that her health had been bothering her since last summer.
“During this year’s preparation, I felt that it was not the same. The performance went down with every training session and there is no need to talk about the race anymore. Diabetes did not allow me to do top sports.
I believe that this decision was the right one. In the past, it didn’t make me happy and it just made my health worse,” declared Jandová. In her post, she also thanked everyone who stood by her and helped her.
“I have been doing biathlon since I was 13 years old and during that time I have gained many beautiful memories, met many great people and achieved good results.
I will remember this stage for the rest of my life. And now it will be seen what I will do next,” stated Jandová, who won gold and two bronze medals at this year’s World Winter Universiade in Lake Placid.
